Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt, she placed within the top two places at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. The youngest winner of the 200 meter in the world championships in Helsinki in the year 2005. She won her medal once again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her competitions.
